Being Bucky…Wisconsin Film Festival

Spring has Sprung with Baseball!!!
Kilgore Tx is excited to announce that collegiate league baseball is back. Contests for fans still include the dizzy bat race (who doesn’t like a bat spin), dirtiest car in the lot (great idea) and a MASCOT race with the Pump Jacks mascots Boomer and Derrick back in action.
Another favorite contest at the Lancaster Jethawks is the frozen t shirt contest! Kilgore News Herald’s Link
Saturday on the Slopes!
First Tracks Online Ski Magazine has posted that in Mammoth Lakes, California, the second annual Roxy Mascot Challenge will be held during the Chicken Jam this Saturday with a $6000 prize purse.

Is it any surprise?
Garret Leiva waxes poetic and seems a little outraged to find that some mascots get a stipend for their troubles. He references a recent Associated Press article that recaps some interesting mascot anecdotes.
Why should there be outrage or surprise when these guys and gals work to look alike, are part of a team, train in the same facilities as the other athletes, and are a huge marketing tool for the schools?
A Slideshow from the Weekend!
SO the weekend didn’t have many upsets or underdogs winning and moving to the Sweet Sixteen but NBC Sports has posted a slideshow of all things mascot from the tournament!
List o Buzzer Beaters!
