Back your mascot on the back of the car
So the Daily Herald from the Chicago suburbs asks the question if Notre Dame is in Indiana, why does Illinois issue specialty license plates with the Fighting Irish on them?
Well Illinois is not the only one for license plate news. Georgia sees this as big business yet passed a law this last year that will only issue alumni tags for state schools that return the favor. At the moment, Auburn and Clemson have Georgia alumni tags and the LSU alumni chapter Atlanta, are hoping to gain tag approval. Manufacture takes approval from the state and advance sales of 1,000. The special tags put ya back some with a $25 manufacturing fee and a $25 annual fee above the regular cost of license plates in the state of Georgia!
I can hardly wait to see Evergreen Geoducks on plates!
Butler Bulldog Costumes Found!
So a possible prank turns into felony charges for four, non university affiliated men. The mascot costumes that have been missing since August were recovered and warrants for arrest were issued November 10. Authorities first asked for a return of the costumes after a break into the field house, but later took the missing “dogs” as a criminal case. The costumes were recovered but sadly mangled and damaged. A whole football season went without it’s beloved mascot!
Good news is the new suits are ready to roll for basketball season starting Wednesday with the game against Ball State. Extra good news is the new suits look the same but have “improved ventilation”
Boos to thieves at Butler!

This post in the indy star has some great quotes and comments. Butler University is missing mascot costume 1 and 2 and the students are aware of how important a Mascot can be to rally the crowd. This site is all about the guys that entice a crowd to a roaring stupor and cheer the team onto victory!
Many of the comments to the Indy Star post asked “what’s the dif?”… get a real dog. I say great for representation of the team but nothing near what a student in a suit can do!!!!
Even UGA has a human counterpart known as Harry Dawg!
